Saw someone n here with these bars on a lightning. I have an 03 xb9 s lightning. Was wondering if these bars are a direct fit. How are they comparable to the crossroads 0 degrees?

Well, I don't know if they'd fit - but I've got the stock clubmans on my CR and can't wait to get 'em off and get the "high bars" on. Why somebody would want to trade the relative comfort of standard lightning ergos for the torture imposed by the clubmans escapes me, particularly if most of your riding is on the street...

Some folks like 'em - I sure don't. I know that doesn't help with your question, though - so sorry about that...

    Swamp2,

How much are you willing to part with your bars?

    Delta one,

I believe you're the one with these bars on your lightning! Holler at me, please!

yes I do have them on my lightning, as far as I can tell they are very close to the -7 crossroads only stronger, and maybe a bit more forward. I think a few have followed suit and installed them as well.

swamp2 I don't know why anybody would want the light front end and less than positive steering of upright bars on their bike ;) lol just kidding. its a personal preference thing, if a bolt was a sexy as a lighting (again opinion) I would have bought that instead even with my daily commute.

fat bar risers from precision engineering are all you will need as far as mounting hardware. mine came with the proper length bolts in the box. oh and don't forget grips no matter what bars you change out to.

again sorry for the video guys I didn't know that I had to turn my iPhone sideways to make it look right.

the only thing that should be done different from my video is to route the clutch cable forward more. mine is still routed for these clubman bars.

you can call these wrist killers but handling was very predictable and linear, I actually liked the feedback better than the CR bars. very stable and light feeling in the corners. super flick-able and best of all the nose stayed down. but they were so low that my hands would cramp up after 2 tanks and my back after 4. if I took 10 minutes or so at each fill up I did ok but not great. the Cr bars are much better in that aspect. and I don't hit my hands on the frame during low speed maneuvers.
the Cr clubmans solved the problems but they are a little high for me at times and the nose picks up if I ride like a hooligan. I may try some clip-ons next.

    Hey Delta,

Good looking out bro. For some reason, I can't watch the video. Anyway, did u use the 1" or 2.5" riser? Any issues with the length of the cables?

Anyone get a chance to use both? Would really like to hear what y'all think. Pro's and con's.

you will need a 2" minimum rise to clear the preload adjusters on the top of your forks and if you aren't as heavy as me (220) you will need 2.5"

I have used both bars as both picks are of my bike :p, what questions do you have that I haven't answered?

OK one thing I forgot to address was time. I think about 3 hours is more than adequate to do your initial setup and plan the routing of your cables, drill your hole and run your lines. after that swapping bars can be done in about an hour or so depending on how fast you are with the grips (the grips are the worst part for me)

I can swap from one clubman to the other in about 30 min

    your mileage may vary
