I'm in Albany (basically a straight shot out toward the 5 from Newport). The coastal mountain range has a lot of great hiking. Not sure if that's your thing, but it is really enjoyable.

I'll also hunt down the name of a pretty wicked seafood joint in Newport. Gimme a day or two to make it happen.

Voodoo donuts is good times. Not sure if they still have it, but if you catch them at the end of a day's donuts, you can buy a bucket full of 'em on the cheap.

Used to work in the restaurant industry in PDX, and there's a lot of good eats in that neck of the woods. Are you guys in need of restaurant recommendations?

Possibly, we're staying in a Condo in Depoe Bay so we are planning on cooking some also. We plan on going for a ride while we're up there but not a very long one as we will be riding everywhere while there. We should meet up and do a loop somewhere. I found a 57.2 mile loop just outside of Newport.

Depoe Bay to Newport over to the 229 up through Siletz to Kernville are and then back down to Depoe Bay.

Siletz is a nice little slice of Oregon.

If you decide to move further inland, I also know a very nice little loop around here.

I'm definitely up for meeting. And if we promise to be nice, RJ might tag along too.

Great oyster farm just up the river from Newport. Mmmm - kumamoto's! Great with an Oregon pinot gris! Excellent, fresh and cheap fish right off the docks in Newport.
Great memories from 7 years ago - you'll love it. I would love to be there on a Buell!
Easy, relaxed wineries between Portland and the coast, too. Do not miss the pinot noirs.
Great time to taste the local produce, like the marionberries (local blackberries).
What - me? Into food and wine? Nah!!!

So we made it. I replaced my rear rocker box gasket on Tuesday. We left on Wednesday at 5:30pm and arrived in Gresham at 2am soaking wet. We left at 11am on Thursday morning and hit Voodoo donuts. Awesome place. If you are ever in the Portland area try to make Voodoo one of your stops (NE Davis and Sandy Blvd). We drove to Salem and then cut over to the 22 and rode it all the way to Depoe Bay through Lincoln City. What a beautiful state and awesome adventure. About 80% of our 576 miles was rain but towards the end of each leg I would feel I could ride a hundred more miles easily just because of the beautiful scenery.[up][up]

Thanks alot man. I need to make contact with "theoctopus" so we can go for a ride before we leave.

I'm just hanging out bud. Both RJ and I are down for a ride. Let me know whenever you're good to get going.

What does your schedule look like at the beginning of the week? Possibly Tuesday or Wednesday? We are busy with the family during the weekend but were thinking about a ride in the beginning of the week. We're hitting the aquarium on Monday so we will be busy most of the day.

Lab work has taken off for a bit, but since I do my own scheduling I can always magically not find any subjects to run trials with for an afternoon. Let me know what works for you. Where are you right now?

We're in the Depoe Bay/Newport area. We want to try and avoid a long ride just because on Thursday we have another 576 mile ride back to Boise.
