just thought I would make a post to say that this board is great. I have been reading for a while now, preparing myself for when I get my own xb9/12. Currently, I ride a 600 cbr, but can't wait to ride a buell.
anyone from chicago here?
how did you all get into buells?
I had heard of them before, but my interest was never piqued until i saw/heard one in person this summer. Oh my! Ever since I have been daydreaming! I am looking forward to further learning on this site, as well as potentially sharing information I gain through working on my own buell.

Welcome Jeff!
We have another member that has a 600r as well. He picked up a 09 xb12r during the firesale and he loves it. He says he feels way safer on the XB, and he says it handles much better as well.
Which 600r do you have? The ABS model sure is tempting.
I fell in love with buells when I first saw an S1 in the back of a pickup when they first came out. I sat on one shortly after and I fell in love with the pearl white. 11 years later I bought an XB12R. Haha.

My buell obsession has been fueled since I was a wee lad and seen a poster of Erik Buell and his super cool rr1000.
But any way welcome to the board this is a great group of guys to learn about these bikes from. A great thing about these bikes is that they are easier to work one than you cbr is and you never have to worry about a radiator leak.:D

dave: i actually have an f4i. its the more upright version of the rr, but still pretty aggressive.
firebolt: yea, it looks like people do a lot of their own work on these bikes. that is pretty exciting to me. maybe it's because they are naked that they are just asking to be tinkered with.
thank you all for the welcome
