As observed from another member on here, my '10 1125R has a blue rear spring. I asked Erik Buell about this and he informed me that all 1125R's were delivered with the stock red rear spring. This means that I have some un-known spring on the rear of my bike. The only blue spring I have seen is from Race Tech but if anyone has seen or heard of any other replacement springs for these bikes please let me know as I am trying to figure out the spring rate without actually removing it and having it tested. Thanks all for any help.

The more I look into this it appears the XB12's had a blue rear spring. I'm going to try and contact the previous owner to see if I can get an answer for this.

Got a hold of the previous owner today to learn that the both the front and rear springs were changed out to accomodate his shorter and lighter body. I am still unsure of the spring rates but this explains why I couldn't get the bike to setup according to the OEM manual. The good news is he is trying to locate the stock hardware for me.

I was gonna say it sounds like an XB rear shock. The normal heigh XBS's came with blue springs, the lowered 9SL and 12SCG came with yellow springs, and the taller Ulys came with white(or light gray, I think). I've been curious about the height of the red shocks compared to the blue ones. I didn't assume they were swappable.

From what I've been told the 1125 forks are the same length as the XB forks, although they stick out of the top triple a tiny bit extra. I'm not sure about the spring difference to know what the internals look like, but the xb forks were 43mm and the 1125 forks were 47mm, so if he swapped the fork springs it was probably something aftermarket, and not just with XB parts like the rear shock got.

I will be asking this fella what parts were swapped in but from the sound of first conversation some mechanic did the work for him so he may not know what exactly was done. I am hoping to also talk to this mechanic to get more information.
