I had my bike in for the 12,000 service and then again for a weeping water pump. Both times I got my bike back with a dented pipe, same spot both times, they got me a new one the first time, now waiting on another. Anyone else have thier service guys dent their pipes or do I jsut have really bad luck? I will be on my third pipe now thanks to the guys at Crossroads HD in Pa.

Did you have to point it out to them? I would hate that. If they stepped up and said "we screwed up, a new pipe is on order" then no harm no foul.

I have dented my own pipe before... but never the service guy. I am going to guess that the guy who test drove it after the service was heavier than you and decided to go over a speed bump. or your suspension is too soft.

Yup, had to point it out to them both times, and all they said is sorry we will get you a new pipe, that is unacceptable, and not only once but twice. This time they ordered me one from another dealer and do not even have the decency to ship it next day, it is comming ground, I will never go back. The same dealer had the bike for the 12,00 maineenance and had it three weeks since they did not order all the parts they needed.

oh wow.. then I dont know... maybe they took the can off and used it to prop the forks up haha...

I just got my back from the 12K service, and couldnt be more pleased with the work they did. Ofcourse I took my bike to a dealer in a different town (60 miles from my local dealer) just to avoid the crappy service of my local HD dealer. I have never had a good experience locally and will never take my bike back there. I would much rather drive the 45min-hour to have it serviced somewhere that I know will do a great job.

Thats where I am at now, I will not take either buell there again, a little further is more fun getting there too. I have yet to let them touch the S2, good thing.

i almost guarantee they used a mallet to pound it off in hopes that it wouldn't dent. i did the same thing when i took off my stock pipe because the gaskets were so tight.
