Well since we have all seen the inside of the drummers now and they are basically a f*cking rip off, any one willing to make a tip for the stock exhaust that is similar to the Drummers or maybe a dual exhaust drummer style? Something in a nice aluminum that either comes or can be polish.

I think he has a pat on the endcap design

The ss has a patent on it but I didn't see anything about the original tip.

How can this muffler be a rip off with the dyno numbers it produced in the 1125 exhaust shoot out thread on this forum??? I think it was second or first overall[confused]

He's talking about the XB modified muffler I think, not the 1125. It looked like exactly that. Take a stock xb muffler, split it open, gut it, then use screen door material to hold some packing material in place. I guess it makes power in the right place though. If it does what you want, then it's a good thing.

You could copy his design as far as insides go, and not get the results you want as far as power and/or sound. He has alot of dyno time invested in his design and product. The tip/endcap you want to copy is where the most power comes from.......the endcaps are sized diff for the XB9 & XB12. Im sure if someone wants to copy the drummer.....weather be the original or the SS its possable, but will you get the same quality ? My SS has been through at least 3 owners (me being the 3rd)over 4-5 years (not sure when the SS was produced 1st) and looks practicly brand new. To me that says alot about the quality and care that goes into his product. Are there things that I would change......mabiee. Could I have made somthing simmilar......possably. Would it have been tuned properly for a stock bike.......No. Just saying that the man deserves credit for his work. If ya wanna make your own drummer clone.....he will possably sell you a endcap for your 9 or 12 with no problem and it will be cheaper than sending you whole muffler to him.

Always wanted a bolt, after retiring from the Marines of 26yrs.Been all over this Earth, drummer Kevin makes is well tested. You can see for yourself do some recon on it. Just like my rifle there are many like it but this one is mine!GoodLuck.

Is it better to have a pipe that's 10 lbs lighter or 1 hp more powerful?

The Drummer is a beautiful pipe, and it sounds great. I would buy it for that reason only, if I had tons of money to let go into the wind. What I am wondering is, compared to the Jardine (which is extremely light), wouldn't you rather save a bunch of weight and give up a couple of hp?

Its better to have a pipe that isn't prone to blowing apart while riding it.

Any decent muffler shop can get that kind of SS tip and weld it on for you as well as cut open and gut your pipe.

Which Jardine pipes have been blowing apart?

The carbon fiber ones, or ones that were improperly drilled and re-rivited after re-packing? The aluminum can that I have seems pretty sturdy.... I haven't seen anyone post a pic of a blown pipe, so I don't have much to go on as far as why that might be happening to some, but not others... I did see a pic of a Jardine pipe that was toast, but it look like the guy hit a curb with it, and mashed in the bottom.

I have read a few posts of Jardine exhausts falling apart on Buells, here's one for you and they also seem to require repacking quite regularly.

Drummer SS all the way or a GB exhaust would be my next choice but me won't ship to Australia [confused]

If George changes his shipping policy I might save up and buy 1 of his too.

I remember a post on here about the std Drummer being just a stock can filled with packing and having a stainless end cap, is that the same material in their SS version or is it chambered? [confused]

I agree that the factory packing is absolute sh_t on the Jardine....

After only 1200 miles I re-packed mine with Silent Sport Premium packing, and the pipe is now awesome- it is quieter, deeper, and way, way less "tinny". I also expect the packing to last a good long time, as well. http://www.areapnolimits.com/silentsport.html

The original packing was just horrible- I was not surprised at all at what I found in there, based upon what the pipe sounded like before I opened it up. I highly recommend trying the Silent Sport stuff- it is by far the best packing that I have ever used.

I was going to ditch my Jardine for a better sounding exhaust- but not now. it is just right.

All the Jardine blown apart mufflers I've seen can be accounted to not keeping them packed. YES, the factory Jardine packing sucks, but if you use a high quality packing such as ceramic or rock wool you won't have problems or need to repack it often at all (some packings can last 10's of thousands of miles). I've seen a few blown carbon ones and read of one blown aluminum one, and Zero titanium ones. All needed to be re-packed.

I've also seen Jardines go NEW on eBay for less then $250 shipped (aluminum) and even seen 2 seperate titanium ones go for under $300 NEW shipped. Thats bang for the buck!!

Keep in mind, even the Drummers need re-packing, theres more then one thread about it. I do prefer the look of the drummers though, just don't like the design of the guts or should I say lack of guts and price.

Buellerpilot---- i was just wanting some noise from my bike , so I ordered my aluminum Jardine from a supplier in California and paid $280 total for it. I like the size of the Jardine as it seems to not make the bike look heavy/bulky like the stock can looks. I'm going to put a Hawk on my other bike as soon as I can.

SS version is built the same way as the original except it can be compleatly taken apart. The only welded peice is the tip on the endcap. They do need repacked after a while.....My ss got repacked for the 1st time in 4-5 years just a month ago. Kevin offers a new packing material thats even better than the original.

I cannot bring myself to hang an iron kettle (modified Buell pipe) under this work of art.

For the $$$ i thought the Drummer SS would be a little more " high tech " inside , like chambers or something. The more i see about the Drummers the better the Hawk looks, especially for $195 bucks ! [up]

I did too until it came time for me to repack it. While having it apart it gave me a good chance to see how much quality is there is in what few parts that are there. To me my drummer SS has the perfect sound, muffles any pops on decel to a point they are almost not heard, and looks awsome. I get just as many complements about how good my pipe looks as I do about how my bike sounds and looks. The only way Im taking it off is when I get a chance to build my own hackpipe simmilar to the pipe Xtreme's pipe that he just sold.

my jardine carbon fiber started cracking apart where the rear strap wraps around it after having it on for about 5000 miles. i bought it used so not sure how many miles it had before. also when i bought it, it didnt come with the rubber peice that goes between the strap and the muffler so thats what caused it to break. other than this it was a great pipe and i never repacked it, not bad for 100 bucks off ebay. i would guess the aluminum one is alot stronger.

i now have a magnaflow muffler on mine and i like it even more

Stellio:

i MAY have a solution to the shipping/customs stuff. but itll have to be after the new year.

what year model bike did you have? i thought it was one with a cat on it, and thus my pipe wouldnt fit anyways.

you can email me if thats easier...i dont come on here too often
