View Full Version : Wrong Jardine can!!! HELP

Hi gents and ladies

I just received my Jardine can, after weeks of trouble getting it shipped to South Africa.

It appears to be the wrong one!!!!
I have received a pipe specced for 2002-2007, and my bike is Oct 2007, which is the same as 2008 onwards..
the header diameter is different.

What to do?
Can anyone tell me about the differences between the two pipes? - is it ONLY the S-bend pipe adaptor that is different, can I simply take my (Wrong) S-bend and have it modified at a job-shop to fit my header?
Or are there other differences too?

I checked the mounting brackets, and they all appear to fit, its just the S-bend that is a problem..
The S-bend has a mounting plate that is welded onto the side, anyone have any idea what that is for?

any help appreciated!!!

Pics?? I would think You could open up the Jardine pipe a little to fit the header assuming the size isn't to great in difference.

you have a bike that has the catalytic converter. which is considered a EU spec bike. i dont believe any jardine will fit.

if you were in uk i could sort it for you, best bet is get some earlier spec headers too match, you'll get better power too:)

How big is the difference? They make exhaust spreaders that you could put in the pipe, heat the pipe up, and try to stretch it slightly. That's only if it's relatively close though.

These were my thoughts, the system may not be a direct bolt on but very doable for sure

the inlet is a different angle, the pre 08 bikes are 2" inlet the post 08 bikes are 2 1/2"

I've got the same pipe for a 2009 euro spec buell.Local custom exhaust maker going to make adapter for me but it looks like bend is at a different angle as well so maybe have to get new bend made or altered.Too cold in garage at mo but will let you know what needs to be done.

Bike now into exhaust maker, snow is away, will update next week:)
