I don't know if this has been asked, can I put a xbss tail and seat on a 1125r? What is needed and how hard is it?

its been done but its a ton of work i have heard. i have seen 1125cr's with the xb tail but never an 1125r. it would look sweet especially if u got rid of the pods. i believe any xb tail would work but its definitly not bolt on. i think the hardest part is getting everything wiring wise and battery to fit in the tail

A ss tail section would be much more difficult than just a s tail as are actually designed for 2 different frames. I believe the xb12r and 1125r share tail sections for the most part, and I know the s tail and r tail will line up perfectly on an s frame. An ss tail is definitely doable but will just require you to get creative with the frame rails to get them to line up correctly. You're probably better off going with an s tail unless you really want the extra couple inches of space. Also, you will have no problem fitting everything in the tail section. On an s or ss, everything is in the seat pan, battery, ecu, fuses, whereas on an r model some of these pieces were located elsewhere. For an s or ss tail swap you will need both frame rails, battery tray, undertray, and a center tail piece. You may have to get creative with the shock as I have no clue on clearances or how the reservoir is mounted, etc. Have seen 1125cr's with the s tail so you might do some searching, sure someone has a how-to thread by now on it

i know that i heard that the guy who did the s tail on a cr had to use a lithium battery and shit to get everything to fit. i guess the 1125r should be easier because i believe the ecm is under the fairing (i just assume never worked on or touched a 1125 just figure its like a firebolt). it would be awesome to see if u did it though

The XBr and 1125r don't share any common mounting aspects that an Ss wouldnt, the subframes are completely different for all 3. Either way you would need to fabricat extensions and wider mounts to get the correct fitment of the Ss tail on the 1125.

Not exactly true. I did a Uly conversion to my 1125r. The bottom mounts fit perfectly, its the top two that are tough. I ended up making a adapter plate for the left side(mounting point is lower). For the right I actually cut it off about 6 inches back and made a curved piece of bar stock to adapt to the mounting location. Ended up working nicely.
Regarding the electrical components I had no issues but the ULY tail is quite roomy.

speed of color makes brackets for a standard s tail swap

you may be able to have them make up some for a uly or Ss

Jornum--------sure would like to see some pics of the whole bike , that sounds unique.

I should have phrased my last post different. Between the three you will have to fab some type of brackets no matter what. As Jornum noted the lower mount is the only mount that will bolt up but not necessarily even between the frames since the tops need to be space correctly for proper fitment.

Thanks for all the input, I want the ss or uly tail so I can ride two up easier I have a xb9s its kind of short with two people, so a little more room would be nice.

I will try to get a finished pic tomorrow. My brackets are very similar to the ones in the link. Same principal at least. Never saw those before, didnt know someone was selling them now. Looks like they took the same approach, cutting back the right side, and a lower offest adapter on the left. I just did mine by hand as I dont have the CNC capabilities.

The top portion of the lower supports on the top side needed to be shaved to increase the angle in order to line up the top brackets.
