ive just bought a xb9s 58 plate 25th anniversary model in satin black with pinstriping on the tank is this a standard paintjob for the model or a one off please

Welcome to the forums!

The 08 anniversary addition plates were on all 08s. No xb's had painted plastics from the factory.

could be that someone got hold of a top tripple tree and fitted it, but i agree... all buells came with solid colour moulded plastics only.

still welcome and congrats on buying a super fun bike.

my personal favorite is the buell factory race exhaust... otherwise there are a multitude of options.

I believe that earlier XB models had an option for a silver pinstripe that had a clear coat over it. I could be very wrong, but I remember a thread that it was discussed if it was a factory part and the consensus was that in fact a limited option was the pinstripe. I think it was on a pre 08 model though.

cool cheers also whats the best exhaust to buy

Dewd, welcome. You have come to the place where there is more exhaust info than you can imagine. The mods have kindly installed a bodacious search function. Suggestions to search under include but are not limited to: Hawk, Drummer, Jardine, Remus, Buell race, GBalias, VooDoo, and a buncha others. Jump on in there.

Thunder-------In 2006 they had the " magnesium stripe " kit option . It was an expensive option , the dealer tried to sell it to me when I was buying my 06 SS. It was a pewter colored stripe on black and appeared to have clear on it. I think it was like $400 bucks .

The thread with the factory stripe was " New Life For A Forgotten Bike " . I don't know how to link. [confused]

You have a really fun bike. Check your Mods section,& read up , check out some of the You-Tube videos ect... For your first Affordable exhaust, Randy makes a killer Hawk Can. KD fabrication makes a good exhaust, also check E-bay BUT be careful w/ e-bay! This Forum also has many for sale items also. Lots of help here, Take your time fixin up your new to you Street Bike.Welcome to BUELL XBs Forum.

The guy who owns it calls it a XB12S, but it does have a yellow shock in the rear and the front fork seals are below the front fender upper bolt. The standard height bikes have the fork seal above the upper fender bolts. I'm guessing it's an SCG.
