Hi All, belt snapped at 35,000 Ks......not too far from home so rang a mate and put on the back of the ute......question is my bike is an 2005 XB12R...the belt is 128 teeth and 1- 1/8 inch in width...can any tell me what the best belt is to buy?? Gates etc cheers

I would stick with the OEM belt if you got 35k out of it that is pretty darn good.

is an 2005 the same belt as other years??? have been looking on ebay etc and it looks like some sportys are also 128 teeth and 1 inch/ 1/18

You could buy it from ASB for $175 + about $50 for shipping to OZ.

I'd say stick with the o.e. belt, the new belts are made better now. You don't want to find a cheaper route and end up stranded. I've been the captain of belt breakology and most have been my fault! I could only imagine if I were using a belt not made for the bike.

yep no probs........HD Bitz in Qld.......$10 more for postage cause im in wup wup.......otherwise $245 and its oe.........

I'm about to just change mine to chain drive. I've gone through 4 belts in the passed year and a half

think i would go to chain conversion if i was that unlucky......problem is though how do you adjust the chain when you get strech????

you slot the idler pulley so you can adjust it up and down.
