is this the thread you read?

there is a post in there about vista files. i would imagine win 7 is similar.
"For Vista Users.
In Vista, you will need to look in your /Program Files/ ECMSPY folder at the top of the folder page you will see something called "Capatability Files".
If you click on it you will then see your log files in kennfeld. You will also notice that Vista puts those files in another directory called:
"user"/AppData/Local/VitualStore/ProgramFiles/ECMSPY.
Just a weird Vista deal.
Go to the Control Panel and choose Power Options and you will be able to choose the lid closing option you need. Look on the left menu pane.
Thanks Bratgin "
i assume he means compatability. im talking out my ass here, just trying to help. i havent messed around with the megalog stuff.

on ecmspy go to opitons and then hit program and you need to put a check in the (Use megalog format) box.
and then open megalog and and then hit open file in the top corner and find the megalog file by following the directions.
its pretty easy once you do it. i just started last week and im super addicted bro. let me know if you need more help.

chedda5000, are you running ecmspy as administrator? only running it as admin will allow you to create files in the desired folder. Right-click ecmspy shortcut and click "run as administrator"
