Okay, I have a bone stock 23k mile 2004 XB12R Below are the ordered parts for the bike. Any suggestions or ideas? I am no stranger to Harley's but this is my first Buell. I figure the entire project is a good weekend with beer(sssssss) job! Contemplating new plugs and wires, however they were changed at 15k
D&D Exhaust
K&N Drop In Filter
EBR Computer Tuned For D&D
EBR Front Rotor
EBR Rotor Install Hardware

I would also do a breather reroute and airbox mod

Kyle, are those mods that require additional parts? Again, I am new to the Buell scene.

You can remove the snorkel that goes through the frame, and also cut the airbox if you want. The breather reroute uses transmission rubber lines, and a small breather filter for a car.

I would go amsoil

Kyle, why wouldhe want to remove the snorkel? Having that he doesn't really need to do the airbox swiss cheese.

Kyle, the snorkel is already removed. What does the breather reroute accomplish?
What weight Amsoil do you use? Does the HD oil have special additives that the Amsoil would not?

Why remove the snorkel? That's a simple one, no snorkel=freer air flow. It's simple as that, removing it allows the air to pass through the frame without and obstacles. The breather reroute hella smooth out lower rpm studder

Hmm... personal opinion i guess. And the breather rerout isn't always needed. I did it and didn't notice a bit of difference. Cept now i have something to drain every now and again.
But just my .02
Oh and oil is all personal preference. Some like HD some like mobile 1 some like amsoil.

I have the HD oil, it and a Buell filter came with my bike when I purchased it. So at least for this oil change and to save $40, it will be HD oil.
Are there any documented HP gains from the air-box mod or the breather reroute?

breather re route doesnt add power, some say it helps your idle and the low rpm stutter, it keeps all the gunk from your motor breather from going back into the airbox.
The open airbox can definitly add power. pretty much no restriction on air flow. you dont need it though the filter will be plenty

Hey might want to up grade the oil to Amsoil 20/50w for the engine. These air cooled Buells get hot. The tranny if you like Amsoil in it also. It only needs 1 QT for the tranny. I use Redline due to I have used the product for trannys many years.Watch the drain plugs just snug them good or it's possible you may strip them out. Bike looks nice BTW. Have fun with it.

After a few rides, the bike now runs great. The ECU has now adjusted itself to the motorcycle. Still have yet to get the TPS adjusted, but it is idling perfect so I will save that $80 that Harley wants for now. Beautiful day, I am going to ride to work tonight.
