my buddy has a 07 1200 firebolt with 1300 miles with a jardine pipe an i think just a stock air filter but hed sell it to me for 5800. its an 07 he bought new in 09. good deal?
NADA lists it @ closer to $5100--of course, that's retail w average mileage. Yours would have substantially FEWER miles than average--& it may still be under warranty!

I would say closer to the $5k mark would be correct. You can get newer bikes with a few more miles for what your buddy is asking.
'09 with 3800 miles for $5250

My friend got an 09 9R with 1700 miles on it for $4700 last month. Deals are out there to be sure. It's all luck and timing for the best ones.

^^Agreed. Your buddies asking too much imo.
'08-'10 models had a ton of updates that are worth spending a little extra dough for.
-IAC unit eliminates the need for TPS resets. (a huge plus!)
-New oil pump & cams #3, #4 (drive oil pump)
-New flywheel & front primary sprocket
-More efficient oil cooler
-Auxiliary plug for heated grips
-CKP sensor eliminates static timing
And updates also include (but can be fitted on '03-'07);
-New pivot shaft
-Pistons to allow for higher redline
-Headgasket
