Hey everyone. New to the forum and new buell owner as well. Just picked up an 04 xb12r yesterday for $3500. It's got 3400 miles on it and is in spotless shape. Bone stock. First off, how did I do with the price? I know what KBB and NADA say, but curious how you all think i did. Second, any wisdom for a Buell newcomer?

Price...good deal.
Wisdom...read the threads about TPS reset and timing adjustment. Manual calls for a tps reset every 10k miles, but within the 1st 10,000 sometimes can need it between every 2500&5000 miles. This is any xb '03-'07.

Congrats on the new bike and welcome to the forum!

What he said.

Sounds like you did get a good deal. You've come to a great place. The only suggestion that I would make is that you make liberal use of the search function, or the advanced search of the site via Google. There's ton of info here, which will answer a lot of your questions, and point you in the direction of maintenance and mods you'll want to do. Once you get your feet wet that way, you'll find that you'll ask better questions of the rest of the inmates here, and we'll be able to answer you or point you in the right direction better.

Congrats and welcome! [up]
