Leak question w/ pics

Rotated the engine down and found a few things. First of all, i found that both plug wires where starting to wear through, into the white insulation(underneath the black outside). Good thing i caught that. And also, i found a leak going from the Primary cover all the way to the drive sprocket. The cylinder and fan are clean so not valve cover gasket i guess. Only on the base behind the cylinder by the starter. Wondering if anyone has seen this happen and what it could be?? Is there a gasket for the starter that could go or something else??

the first pic looks like your primary cover gasket leaks. i cant see the bottom of your rear cylinder but on my bike the base gasket is f'ed up so im tearing the top end down to replace the gasket. the fact that the starter is covered though makes me think that maybe there is a bad gasket there.

alright, thanks, maybe when i get some time, ill snap some better shots since the motor isn't bolted up yet, just sitting on jack.

im in a similar position, since i have my engine on a jack i decided to just rebuild it with fresh gaskets from the base gasket up. 100 bucks for a top end gasket kit from cometic and 22 bucks for a set of rings from HD. lets not talk about my broken header bolt though
