Trip reset parts

The trip reset knob on my '97 s-3t lost its retainer nut and washer. Of course you can't get these from Buell without buying the whole cable assembly for $32.00. Any one know of any alternative parts that I can use? Thanks in advance. Frank

I have the same problem. I had a truck that had a push button switch under dash that had same set up try checkers or ace hardware
