Not to sound dumb but what are you doing? Does the gasket remover take off the color?

Sweet, what color are you going to paint them or are you going to go with the rat rod look? I am too lazy to strip things myself anymore. I just drop them off at the media blast place up the street....lol

Not sure what color they will be but they will have a polished lip. Using the gasket remover rather than blasting will leave me with less polishing to do as the lips are already polished. Still have 3 feet of snow here, got lots of time to kill........

I always loved the red ones. I have silver rims and have always thought about painting them.

Don't paint your rims, powder coat. I painted mine and as soon as I got them on the bike i screwed them up. When I was bleeding the front brake the line slipped off the bleeder and brake fluid ran onto the paint.... ugh

I concur with the powder coating...^^^^^^^^^^^^.....it is a much sturdier finish
