View Full Version : Any tricks to installing throttle cable?

So im going to install new throttle and idle cables tonight. Are there any tricks or helpful hints for this?... Or is it pretty straight forward?...

Straight forward. I had to replace mine two years ago. Make sure You check that the throttle works and returns properly before you test ride the bike. The cable is very thin so be careful not to cut or frey it in any way, or you're back at square one.

Thanks for the heads up!, it was pretty straight forward! I also installed a cigarette lighter charger to my bike while i was at it! But while doing it all i guess i somehow bumped my idle screw or something, bc it was turned down, and my bike wouldnt stay running, but got that solved pretty quick also!
Now lets just pray i have good riding weather up till the 11, bc thats when i leave for chicago to fly out for boot camp for 2 months!
It hurts to leave my bike sitting for that long when i know itll be nice out! :(

just think of it this way, when you get back you will have more money to add to her if you choose too.

well just remember you are single so that means free food and a free place to live so those are two things you don't have to spend money on so it leaves more money for cars and motorcycles.

and don't forget to save some also so that when you are old you will have more money.
