Alright guys I got a quick question. I have a 2003 XB9R with 11.5K on it. I bought it about 3 months ago. Well I went to go check out my air-filter and was happy to find a K&N in there but was unhappy to find a puddle of a pink oil at the bottom of the filter box.

Doesnt seem to have any smell of it being ran through the engine so I'm assuming the it might just be air filter oil that is still seeping off? I have cleaned it all out before and some has reappeared...

If anyone has any knowledge about this it would be appreciated.

***Also I occasionally get a popping noise from inside of the airbox that sounds like something is about to shoot into my face. This only happens when I'm at a 0-5mph range.

Thanks!!

sounds like you just have way too much oil on your filter.

There isn't any pink fluid in your bike. Must be cleaning solvent or air filter oil. Pic??

Yep what firebolt said..just filter oil. Does it pop when its cold on start up or when its warm?

Alright thanks, thats what I assumed.

Xb12sLt- It pops when its warm most the time I believe. It is quite loud, might be running too rich or something. It does have a race exhaust but Im not sure what else

Breather Reroute (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Do-It-Yourself-Buell-Mods/How-To-Crank-Case-Breather-Mod-with-pics) almost solved my airbox hiccups. Still occasionally, but nothing like it used to. Some people doesn't help so much, but the mod can't hurt anything.

Also will redirect the oil spray away from your airbox. I'm guessing the pink puddling is from the spray coming out of the breather hoses and mixing with the K&N filter oil.

Does it on mine too. Same bike. Sounds kinda like a backfire in the intake. my bike will cut out for a second when it happens too. Not too worried about it I just assume the bikes runnin a little rich is all...

That reminds me, I need to clean my filter or atleast recharge it.

If you are using to much spray on your air filter and you have the oil and K&N spray or other type will with heat & time turns kinda pinkish. A reroute of the breather does help quite a bit.
