Hi, I'm Jake and I bought my Buell last summer. I have been rode dirt bikes growing up and this is my first streetbike. I got a great deal on it at a small local shop. The previous owner laid it down and couldn't pay his bill so he sold it to the shop. There was a dent in the frame and the swingarm is rashed. I didn't mind at the time I just wanted something to ride. When I got it home I figured out it had a race kit on it, sweet. Then one day my father inlaw detailed my bike and I thought it looked good so I decided over the winter I would make it pretty. I put passenger pegs on it and found out the subframe was twisted when the peg bracket rubbed the swingarm. I didn't think it was a big deal at the time because the swingarm was already rashed.

header polish is definitely worth while! Easy task that makes a huge difference. Not to thread jack, but here is a pic of mine shortly after a polish.

Hopefully I can swap the swing arm tomorrow and then put the frame pucks on. Does anyone know the Wix oil filter size for an xb9? I can get Amsoil 1/2 a mile from my house but have to drive 10 miles to get a filter, sad isn't it.

Welcome! Nice transformation!
Click on the Hawk link 2 under mine (and under your large pics) He has the filters all listed on his site.

Can anyone give me advice on how to lift the bike for the swing arm change. All I have is a cycle jack, and also is there anything in this process that I should loctite? Anrkizm, the little guy doesn't ride, he just pouts in the corner.

Today I got the frame pucks on, the swing arm changed, and loaded up with fresh Amsoil. Took a nice 20 minute first ride of the year to warm it up before taking out the oil.
The dent the puck is covering is still a little visible but you have to be right on top of it.

It looks alot better without the belt guard.

Oh and my axle tool didn't work on the pivet shaft, my brother inlaw had to torch the 17mm hex off, but after that it was smooth sailing.

Put on a modified upper belt guard just in case the belt blows when the wife is on back.
