How many of you commute everyday on your bike? What is considered high mileage on a XB9R?

I ride my '09 12R every day. 9800 miles in the last 10.5 months. Zero problems.

Not sure what is considered high millage though. Low hard not maintained miles is worse than high cared for miles.

I commute 42 miles 1 way every day without rain about 6 days a week. I have put almost 3k on my xb12r so far this season. To answer your question though we need the year model.

I only go to class 2 days a week, but my bike is my only source of transport to get to class. I have a car for the other days, but even then, my bike makes up 99% of the miles that I travel each week.

I feel that the general sentiment amongst most sport bike buyers is that anything over 10k miles is high mileage.

I would take the bike over the car any day. There are some members on here ive seen with 50,000 + miles on their bikes. I do probably 200 a week on average.

I ride everyday , weather permitting. Last year both my bikes combined racked up a little over 12,000 miles.

I try to ride everyday to work if the weather permits. Average about 200+ miles on the weekdays. Plus with gas being crazy, I like only spending around $20 a week. My Nissan Murano will run me $60

I commute pretty much every day on my bike...'09 xb12ss, just went over 14k miles.

i ride monday to friday all year round rain hail or snow. snow and ice have been a bit scary but i havent fallen off yet... lol

i do 80km a day so over the last 3 years i have done 70,000km's

i ride most weekends if its sunny.

I have just a little over 36,000 on my 04 Xb12R, since purhcased, spent a little over two years overseas, so about 12k a year, regular maintenance, and one clutch (really my fault) and no big problems.
and I live in Michigan

My bike is an 03. It had 9,600 on it and I ahve added about 400 in the two weeks that I have had it. I live in Fl and plan on riding it everyday. I will probably put about 200-250 miles per week on it. Maybe in a couple years I can talk my wife in to letting me buy a second bike:D

I started riding on march 3rd and it was a cold rainy march so I only put about 1000 miles on her since I didn't ride in the rain due to ice conditions being possible, this month its much warmer so far and road the bike every day this week so far put about 300 miles on her so as long as its not freezing out ill ride in the rain so probably 90% of the year ill ride, I won't be suprised if I put 12000 on it this year and maybe only 1000 on my truck :)

As long as there's no ice on the road I ride to work from mid March to mid December, every day. Wayne

I bought my Buell Firebolt on April 26 2008, and started riding it to work the last week of may or june 2008 every day that it was not poouring down or expecting to rain hard when i left for work (hit rain once or twice coming home)and when i had to drive the car for some other reasons or wanting on something for the buell because I had it apart to do somthing for it like tires and whatever, and continued to ride the buell all the summer and fall into about the third week of october, when it got to cold at night to ride home after a 8-14 hour work day. nice and warm when I left but so cold at night I had to wear my insulated coveralls home at night and still be very cold . I think that year I put about 3500+ miles on it, as it was a hour and a half drive of 90 miles each way. and now at my current job I have been riding it any time the weather says it ok to, and expect to ride it everyday very soon. .. and my Buell now has about 9600+ miles on it and no problems, very reliable!

I ride to work every day that it's above 34 degrees and not raining.

As for mileage, for the purposes of BUYING I would consider anything over 10k worthy of deeper than usual inspection and preferably a price discount.
However, for my own bike that I change my own oil and do other preventative maintenance on, I'm not really concerned about miles.
I hope to put 100k on my beast one day.

Agree with shatrat. Wouldn't buy anything over 10k miles. My bolt had 3800. Now I am at 11k. If I'm the one taking care of it I know its being done properly.

I bought my Bolt (12R) with 3900 or so. I do all of my own maintenance and work, and have 18500 now with no problems. Also, we just got rid of her old car, so my car is going to be hers now. She has to have somethin' to haul the little squirt around in. The bike is now my primary mode of transportation; as of yesterday. It just became an "everyday" thing.:D

Been commuting on a '04 xl since '05, 50k miles so far, clutch is starting to slip slightly.
Bought the 12r last yr, up to 10k on it now, no issues yet.
