I don't have my manual handy, so I'm going by memory, but if it serves me correctly I think you are supposed to change plugs every other service (i.e. every 10k miles). Can anyone who does have a manual handy confirm?

Yes it's 10k miles. Check the DIY info because the rear plug is easily crossthreaded.

Yes the 9,000-10,000-miles is recomended from the manual & my experience here in the shop. However if you have used Ecm Spy on the older Buells OR changed the Fuel map/& altered the Epromm, you should AT least remove the Plugs Around the 4,500-TO the 5,500/mile area. This way montoring the Engines'plugs can tell you if something is going on.For a Stock Engine the Harley Plugs actually work well when using a free flowing filter & premium fuel. The rear cylinder is somewhat tight. Remove the left scoop for entry to the front plug, and remove with a combination open & box wrench Some go through the top of the air box bottom plate. A 3/8 universal/or swivel,6inch extension, and a good rubber boot spark plug scoket and needle nose pliers and maybe a 5-to-6inch of 3/8th,rubber hose the rear cylinder spark plug change goes pretty smoothly. You can use the hose to GENTLY put over the insulator(ribbed area of plug)some are smooth, then screw it in, watch the threads .NGKs only check with a wire style gapper for proper setting.
