So I finally took the bike out for about a 45 minute ride. It rides great. However i did notice that my crotch got pretty warm from the engine/header. Is there anything that I can put under the seat to help shield it?

Do you have a right side scoop? That helps tremendously with the heat issue.

Special ops makes a heat shield you put under your seat to cut down on the heat.

And +1 on the RSS...makes a huge difference in keeping the heat under control!

I went to the hardware store and found some heat sheild, it was almost like bubble wrap with a shiny aluminum foil looking plastic on the outsides. I just cut that up and put it under my seat. Home Depot also sells rolls of heat shield that is sticky on one side and reflective on the other. I'm not sure how much either helped, and they were both more of a hassle than a help because I now had this thing under my seat every time I pulled it off to get something, plus it started to turn everything under my seat silver haha. I accept the heat in summer for the benefit of having a heated seat when it's colder [up]

did the same dealio, cut out a section and glued it to the underside of my seat, also cut out a piece and have it under my airbox, that and the RSS have eliminated and heat problems.
