looking to get an xb12r

hey guys im looking to get a xb12r here in the next month or so and was wondering a couple things. Are there any years that were better than others like with new features or advancements? And is there anything i should stay away from? I have harleys and i want something i can really whip around and have a good time on.

There were some minor upgrades over the years, so as with most things, the newer the better. In all reality though, a 2004 xb12 really isn't all that different from a 2010 xb12.

If you get an 03, either ensure that the belt upgrade has been done or do it after you buy it. Also watch out for the early kickstands...other than that, minor changes. And like upthemaiden said, usually the newer the better.

i have an 03, how can you tell if you have the belt upgrade and what was the purpose of it?

The 03 belt is more prone to failure than the newer "lifetime" belts.
