XB12SCG tail section on a Firebolt

Can someone tell me if a scg lightning tail will fit on a firebolt? I have a 2008 lightning tail and was gonna put on 2008 firebolt. Can it be done?

if you are talking about the seat rails and rear light shroud... then YES, these will fit your firebolt.

its jsut a bolt up process with exception of the brake reseviour, and a little fiddling fitting the latch cable (if you dont swap it) and you need the metal latch bracket as well.

A couple pix of my bike. SCG seat, with a chopped tail. Everything bolts right on, you'll need to do a little wiring for the taillight and make a bracket for the brake reservoir.

Glade's bike is still one of my all time favorites. Sometime I definitely want go try out a firebolt fairing on my lightning.

Im in the works of possibly buying a firebolt. I was gonna put an scg tail on my 1125r but its becoming way too much work. Plus, Im gonna get a bike for wife and we saw this one and she likes it.

yep, that sounds right on 125 each. Really its not much work at all. As a matter of fact, I found a 2008 firebolt for sale here in TX im gonna go look at today. He wants $8k but KBB said value around $5900. I may offer $6K but we will see. Ya'll wish me luck...

Looks like I found a complete tail assembly off and 04 xb12s. Being an 04 and my bike is an 09 any bolt on issues?

Shouldn't be any at all, as long as it's an S model and not an Ss

I think this is the best look for the firebolt. Really sets it apart from the plastic clad I4's when in a parking lot.

Took me a long time to collect the parts for mine, at one point i had 3 of the left rails, and nothing else.

Couple more questions. I need to paint the new sub frame to match the frame and some road rash on my bike. How do I find out the specific color? (09 XB12R white/blue) I see ASB has some rattle can paint (for $25?!?!?!) Is that sufficient? I dont want my bike to look like a turd, mind you.


Also is there any way to tag a thread on this forum w/ out posting on it? I see a lot of great theads that I would like to reference to once I get home. But when I try and find them at a later date, I never can?

from what I understand we will have a ton of room all we need to put in is the battery. Where as the lightnings have all the electronics under the seat instead of the front fender

I'm 6'2" 230 lbs and have an S tail and seat on my R. Rides just fine and I still don't look like a bear in a circus.

s and scg subframes are the same just different seats and suspension

pods r needed to keep bike cool. it water and air cooled. it usually runs 190-200 degrees all the time. pods help it stay cool.

Nope. Glade (http://www.buellxb.com/Buells-for-Sale/Buell-Firebolts-for-Sale/2003-XB9RS...Lots-of-mods---Colorado) did all the mods you see, then I bought it from him back in...April? I put stock(ish) mirrors back on and frame pucks, passenger pegs, flipped the front tire, cleaned up some electrical. It is a badass bike and I know he misses it.
