Hey guys got a machine shop and have the first set of redesigned sliders and will be ordering more sets. These sliders will be available in black but will be hardcoated. The sets will include front and rear sliders the rears being spooled for use with workstand and all that is needed for install is red threadlocker and an allen wrench. Just tryin to see who would be interested in a black pair of sliders? Depending on the demand for machine finish I may be able to make some. These sets I can split if you just want the fronts or rears. For Front and Back I'am asking 85 + s&h.

Hey Andrew - I'll be getting with you when I get back in ~4 weeks. Probably silver fronts and black/buell frame painted rears... We'll see.

That's correct! I'll be the last one to chase Andrew away from here. We need as many Buell enthusiasts and vendors as we can get. Our products differ slightly so it's up to you all which you want to go with in the end.
Good luck Andrew! [up]
[up] For 50 being cool. But hes probably cussing you under his breath!:p

Many might forget but Andrew started his adventure to make these slider a while back, he just had issues with a machine shop.

We are starting off with the axle sliders for now. I'll be getting 200 pieces to make 100 sets. anyone interested I will get prices together and let you guys know when they are done and ready for purchase. We have to test them out first on the bikes to check for proper fitment and any other changes that need to be made and then they are ready. In the mean time I will be working on coming up with drawings for the rest of the items you guys are requesting and will keep you all updated on progress.

I appreciate the kind words guys, yes there has been some bumps in the road I'am trying to venture down but I believe I have found the right machine shop and the owner happens to be a member as well. We both have good parts and I'am in no way trying to take sales away from 50-dro as he has a good product as well. We have slightly different parts that function in very similar ways to achieve an end result. If you are interested the option is here and these will be available. I'am also working on getting some of these sliders sold to local shops and from what I can tell should be pretty successful. I greatly appreciate the support from all of you and I'am following thru with parts that I had told many of you would be ready for sale months ago but as you know I was not able to deliver due to machine shop issues. Thanks again everyone.

On a side note there will be more parts to come once they are developed, by myself and the owner of the shop I'am working with. I'll keep everyone posted with new parts available.

What kind of price are we talking for fronts and rears with a black finish?

[up] Look GREAT!
I would add a small radius/fillet to the insides on the groove on the rear sliders and if possible make the slot a little bigger diameter (if the lift still will fit into the groove). I'd be interested in a black set, they will be hard anodized?

The black hardcoated ones will be 85 dollars which is for both front and rear. This will be the price for any hardcoated or anodized sliders. As for the lift groove, its wider than it looks I haven't had any problems yet with different stands fitment wise but I still have just a couple brands to test out which will be this week but its wider than it seems in pictures.

Isn't metal the absolute worst material to make frame sliders out of??? I only buy sliders made of delrin. Just sayin'
From Motosliders:
"A frame slider needs to absorb impact so as little
energy as possible is transmitted to the frame. It also needs to slide smoothly to keep the bike from
“digging in” and flipping. Aluminum doesn't absorb much impact, and can dig into the pavement. An all
aluminum slider bolted to an aluminum frame can have disasterous results."

delrin is about the same price as aluminum and a pretty soft material. Aluminum is a fairly soft metal compared to stainless, or just plain raw steel. Look at all the other designed sliders, some are metal some are delrin and some are a combination of the two but the only real difference is the fact that when you lay it down with a delrin slider, delrin with grind away. Granted aluminum will do the same but not as fast as aluminum. I see it this way, if other manufacturers thought the same thing then none of them would even think about making any of them out of delrin. Some of this reasoning is some people want looks from them as well rather than just a plain black plastic looking thing hanging off their bike. Either way they both will do the job they are meant to do.

But, if you take a look at race-bikes, you'll see they don't use aluminum sliders. They're either delrin or vinyl and some even have groves machined towards the end of the frame slider to allow them to break away so they do not transfer the impact energy to the frame prior to sliding. I love shiny billet stuff as much as the next guy, but it's the wrong application in this instance.

In for a price war!
Someone sell them for $70 shipped and watch them fly off the shelves! ( well at least one set to me )

My point is that the slider in general is designed for a specific reason, to keep your forks and swingarm from getting damage in case you lay the bike down whether there delrin, aluminum or some other material. I have seen plenty of aluminum ones do the same job the delrin ones do at the same rate of success. If you would like the delrin ones thats personal preference and I have no obligation to delrin but I'am just not making them out of delrin at this time but there maybe some in the near future possibly.

Couldn't agree more Andrew. The aluminum sliders blend in with the overall asthetics of the bike better than the sliders made from other materials. For as often as a slider is used the appearance outways the function of the product. One of my bikes has the aluminum sliders and they really blend in with the bike to the point off being invisible. IMHO
