quick question to anyone that has subframe spacers can you still ride with a passenger with them installed or is it to much of an angle or to much stress on everything?

Both my bike and my fiancé's bikes have them and my fiance says she doesn't even notice the tail lift. As the driver I do notice it though. I can feel the added angle as she leans on me more. With that though it isn't so much to make me not want to ride with her on the back...... but then again I did buy her, her own bike so I didn't have to have her on the back of my bike :p

I can't comment on what it's like to have a passenger on the tail spacers since I don't even want a passenger on my tail when it's the normal level, but, assuming you buy some real spacers like the dieselmoto ones, there's no reason anything on the bike would be too stressed. It's a solid metal piece just sitting between the frame and the subframe so it's pretty sturdy.
I've seen some people try to make their own out of a flat piece of steel and some bolts, and I definitely wouldn't trust it enough to put someone I liked on the back of my bike that way.

I put a set of the dieselmoto spacers on my XB. These were the ones on sale recently on their site. Wife didn't notice and I didn't tell her. Like X said, it pushes the passenger more forward on your back and in turn pushes you and your junk into the airbox.
On a seperate note... Kind of disappointed in the fit of these things. One of them was fine, but the other one has a gap and is sort of high. When I tear the bike down later I will do some grinding on it to get it to sit flush.

I felt the same way. I'm not a perfectionist, so I'm not picky about it but I thought that initial test run was meant to work all that stuff out. I figure someday when I'm bored I'll work on mine with the dremel and see if I can get them to sit right.

x3 For the price i expected a lot more. I originally bought the raw aluminum and it was horrible. There was porosity in the casting and the holes were tapped crooked. To the point i was not confident in the threads. DM did send me some new powdercoated ones that were much better but it still had the same issue you described as above. They identified their jig had shifted and the issue was corrected. This is in regards to the tapped and drilled holes not the fitment. The left one fits great for me but the right is off.

Great feedback. I have also been looking into these and I am unsure if I should buy or not. What is the final verdict?

I was gonna buy the spacers from DM but after what I read on here I'll wait until they fix the problems.

its your best option i think still. just wish they would either fit better or cost half as much. its not bad. below is a pic of the one that doesnt fit as good. you can only really tell up close.

I got a set of the new batch from DM and the fitment/look is perfect IMO. Also, I have ridden with passengers since the install and dont mind it at all. The passengers say they prefer it that way also.
