Here's my bike, came as a 2003 xb9sl, came with the seat in the first picture, and I picked up the other two from this forum. I swap them back and forth on a daily basis based on what mood I'm in. (Tall one is the most fun :D )

In case that wasn't clear, yes, any seat from an xb9s, xb9sl, xb9sx, xb12s, and xb12scg will all fit any of those models. The only ones you can't use are the xb12Ss, xb12stt, xb12x, and xb12xt.

xb12s and xb12scg are short frame models, and xb12s/stt/x/xt are long framed models. The subframes and seats on those models are longer and wouldn't fit.

UP - Thx for the confirmation, I have it being shipped to me tomorrow, I am sure my back side will appreciate it. LOL I hear the City X seat is really comfy, I am sure anything will be better than the short seat, especially since I am 6'3".

the cheesegraters are all the same. The black one on my bike that I cut up was from an xb12ss, but the actual rails and seats are completely different.

Speeddemon, which cityx seat did you get? The tall one from 05-06 like in the last picture I posted, or the newer one like in my middle picture? I love riding on the tallest seat, it definitely gives the bike a great feeling. Unfortunately I think it's ugly and usually just use the medium height seat. The low seat is the most comfortable in opinion just because it's shaped really well. The tall one is cushy, it gets a little hot in summer temperatures because you sink into it a little bit. Someday when I'm bored I'll probaly try to uncover my tall seat and see if I can shave it down to the shape of the STT seat so it looks a little cleaner.

Just for comparison, my long with the TT seat.

With the std. 09 low seat. You can compare the seat rail difference to upthemaidens bike.

You can compare the seat rail difference to upthemaidens bike.

Keep in mind that not only do those rails go further back over the rear wheel, but the long xb12 models also have a longer swingarm, so it's even longer than it looks.

I have the low seat and I think it's even a little short for myself being 5'8. My bike was originally an xb9sl with the scg suspension and I hated it. I swapped to the normal length suspension as soon as I could collect the parts. It was convenient getting my feet flat on the ground with a slight bend in my knees, but I'm just used to being on my toes.

Well I have no issues with touching flat footed. lol I am looking forward to taking some of the bend out of my knees and being a little more comfortable. Yeah I had a guy that wanted to swap the whole tail section but I really didnt want to swap all that.
