After I shift gears, my xb12r gear shifter is not returning to the natural position for me to shift into the next gear. There must be a return spring involved that is sticking or worn out, right? I also would like to put on a new clutch cable, are these 2 tasks something that I can do with ease? And at the same time probably would be a good idea, since it looks like I will have to take off the primary cover. Has anyone had the same problem with the gear shift? THANKS!!!!

I am having to use my foot to put gear shift into the neutral/middle position every shift, before shifting into the next gear. Definitely needs fixing before I ride again.

There is a spring involved yes. But you might have to change the whole gear shifter shaft assembly which includes the springs I think. There Are manuals to download at mods.buellxb.com where you can see what I am talking about.

3 springs involved in the assembly. Get a gasket and a quart of oil, pull it apart. Post picture :D
