1125 cr- when I first start the bike it will idle for a few seconds or more then dies.Starts right back up and may die again. If I start to ride it and stop right away it stalls.but after that I can ride around and seems like nothing is wrong. The bike does a hesitation surge (like it might stall or a miss) at low rpms some times (not all the time) .Highway it seems like nothing is wrong. No codes come up on the IC, all the live data seems to be in check ,put in fresh plugs today, tps reset done, fresh new gas, battery 12.4+ and cables tight
ebr ecm and a jardine pipe.Any Ideas??

Needs fuel...your comments...!
Simple

1. hesitation
2. stalls
3. surge
4. stalls, starts, stalls, etc...

You've answered your own question, see 1 thru 4. All require more fuel.

Mike

My bike did this the other day, it was hot out but otherthan that I had to pick it up and bring it home with my truck the next morning bike ran fine.

Mike -yes obvious , but finding the faulty part has been a hair pulling experience. Back and forth from the dealer too EBR tech and finally Buell tech at HD telling the dealer ship to put in new fuel injectors!!The injectors are on back order (of course) but four dealers actually stocked a couple of sets. Hopefully I will be riding by the weekend.

Mike: simplistic answer.

Check air filter?

What did the old plugs look like? The first clues are usually in the plug appearance.

^^^^
simplistic answer.

Nope, ended up being a faulty injector wich gave no codes and no clues on the old plugs.Brand new K&N ,also switched back to new stock filter. All the simple stuff I tried first.Bike only has 3000 miles on it.Still in the shop [sad]

update-new injectors in the bike, still the same problem.Next- intake leak??? then if thats not it ,start looking at the motor
Going on three weeks at the shop [sad]

Dam sorry dude. Interested in seeing what it actually ends up being. Idle air control valve maybe?

^^^ That is one of the parts (IAC),that I thought may be faulting. Who knows at this point. Will update

bike still in the shop, [sad]. The warranty process on this bike blows, waiting for an okay from HD to replace the throttle body ( only part left to replace). The reason for all this time is the (waiting) for the Buell tech at HD to call the dealership back to okay the next step in replacing the next part or testing another part of the bike.I hate HD at this point because they have wasted 6 weeks of my riding time!!!!!

^^ are you talking about fouled plugs -read the thread !!Also wet plugs could be fixed by a manual spark plug clean ,you can find this easy process in the service manual. The ECM fires the plugs rapidly up to three times with out enabling a start! Brand new plugs have been put in the bike (one of the first things done when this problem started), I'm going to call this bike CHRISTINE .Every part should be brand new when it comes back (if it comes back)from the dealer. To bad it doesn't happen over night in my garage.

Just a thought. Has your fuel pump been pressure tested, wires wriggle tested for fuel pump ? you havent got a blockige going on with your air vent for your fuel cap.If so itl play up more when tank is full and weather is hot.[cool]KIWI

Tested ,every fuel part has been tested! The actual Buell tech working on the bike has wanted to replace the throttle body for weeks. He has to wait till the Buell Tech at HD Tech line okays each step and work on the bike. Fuel pressure done twice! All the little stuff was done before I handed it over to the dealer (check for vent hose blockage)! The part that sucks is the dealer waits till the tech from HD okays the next step and part but sometimes takes a week to get back!!!!![mad] Last thing done was a 30 second recording of the bike running, this was sent to the tech at HD ,still waiting for a response (done on last Monday)

AWWWWRRRRRRRRR [mad][mad]. It took a week and a half for a Buell tech at HD headquarters to listen and watch a digital recording of the bike running. The tech at the dealer was told to search for a possible short in the (TPS).If nothing found (WAIT) to get the okay for a throttle body! If this was the winter I could care less about the amount of time wasted but summer is ticking away !

My 2008 1125 has been doing this for about a year now. I can throttle up to work it through, but I am concerned about doing this to a cold engine. It also causes alot of backfire when downshifting, until the bike is good and hot. What did the resolution end up to be? I have had it in the shop twice for this, but when I go to pick it up, it is still doing it.
