Hello fellow Buell riders!
I am new to modifications and I would appreciate some recommendations.
I am modifying my 2009 XB12ss Lightining with a
Jardine slip-on carbon race exhaust.

This is the ecm I think will work best.
XB12 Preprogrammed ECM

I was also suggested I would need a K&N Air Filter

Does anyone suggest anything else I would need?
Is there anything I should tell my mechanic to keep in mind?
Thank you for any and all help!

are you dead set on a jardine? I only ask because there is much better choices out there that will not fall apart and you won't have to repack than that pipe. Many of the other options improve the stock muffler and you won't have a ball of flames shoot out of your pipe like that jardine will.

Thanks for the tips Firbolt & Anrkizm!
I don't want to be a pipe packer.
Thanks for the link, I just downloaded the shoutouts for the XBs and I really like the D&D pipe. Does the D&D require packing?

no it does not. From what I have been told the D&D is almost bullet proof. The most you might have to do is repaint it in a few years or so but no repacking or anything else.

You will lose a little power with the D&D. It is a very small amount, but you should know that should you be chasing maximum power and maximum torque. It is also very, very load. Not sure if that is something that would bother you or not.
If you would prefer a custom tune for your bike, I can provide one for you for the same cost as an EBR ECM. I can also flash a map tuned for a D&D and K&N for less than the EBR ECM.
