so yea, thats the set up, heres the website i bought the ball from,

http://www.mcmaster.com/#62195k13/=d2c4zd

i just took a measurement of the size of ball i needed to fit my ram mount, but i think i'm going to order a smaller one, and use a different gps holder so it actually lays flat instead of sitting up 5 inches off the bike.

Nice and Simple. Easily Removable. Good Job [up] I believe the Garmin mounts take a 17mm diameter ball or bead.

Dude.......PLEASE ..... Wash the bugs off your bike!!!!

BTW... Nice job on the mount [up]

Bugs, fine, Rust, not so much. I digs the GPS mount tho. My gps is usually a post it note covered in clear tape, held down by my gas cap key cover thingy... Yeah its pretty techy.

this past winter i redid a lot on my bike and ended up taking the gps mount off, i've somehow lost the all thread and hard ware for it all, so i'm off to lowes sometime this weekend to hopefully get new stuff. I'll have to order another ball for the top of it as well.

loosing it just got me thinking of this thread i made, and figure i'd bump it for anybody who might like the idea
