hey guys im looking into getting either a used 06 with some aftermarket parts for about $8500 and 2500 miles on it, or waiting and either getting an 08 later this year or an 09 early next year.
my question is what are the real performance differences between the 06 and its later models, if any.
any suggestions will be accepted thank you all very much.

performance, not really that you would feel for a stock bike.
there have been other updates, though...i would suggest going for the '08 or if you have the patience wait on the '09. ;)

The crank pin in the engine is bigger and the updated the oil pump to put out more volume for the pin. I have also read that the 06 and a little dead spot when starting in out in first. I just bought an 08 and loving it, accept for the clutch cable the brakes and burns on the exhaust.
