Any reason you're specifically interested in the Buell race exhaust?

the OEM Buell RACE exhaust is THE BEST.

Interesting. I'm not going to go down that road with you, but you should know there are a bunch of other excellent exhaust alternatives should you be unable to find a great condition race exhaust for $400. For that price bracket, you're right in the market for a number of really great aftermarket options.

Doesnt the Hawk exhaust put down better numbers than the Race Exhaust at half the price?

no

Hahah. I think I've seen anrkizm answer this question almost as many times as the "how to pull codes" question. You're a good man for being so patient!

Regardless of what exhaust you choose, you'll likely want to do a custom tune. When you're ready, check out my website for a full line of tuning services that will exceed EBR ECM performance, without question: The Tuniversity (http://www.thetuniversity.com/). Shoot me any questions if you have any through the contact form on the site!

If the XB9 OEM Buell Race Pipe is EXACTLY the same as the XB12 pipe, then I am interested. Please send me an email with high-res pics, few angles and lets deal.

thanks.

From what I've seen looking around 400 bucks won't buy the soot out of an original Buell race can

BikeRider
08-08-2011, 03:18 PM
Do you have a Buell Race can to sell? let's see it and if you are willing to sell it in like new condition, then I'm willing to pony up more. Otherwise, lets please keep this to a WTB thread instead of a discussion.

Thank you.

Wow 6 post and already making a name for yourself. I will tell you from experiance that you will see NO GAINS on the street with just the race can. You will need the race ecm and a track to see the gains that the RACE PACKAGE provides. I traded MY race can for a Drummer SS and dont plan on looking back. Yes its a nice peice of hardware but alone it wont do what you want. Plus MOST "GOOD" race cans go for $500 plus.......some even dubble that. So do what you want and ignore the advise that veteran buellers have given and have a nice day.

Wow guys don't be a dick to the guy he wants what he wants and I'm willing to sell my race pipe to him if he wants it I just want enough to get a jardine that's all and if he doesn't think it's worth it thats his choice.

freak2180
08-08-2011, 03:51 PM
not trying to be one..........Its just that we have been around here long enough to know that race cans in even "decent" shape go's for $400+ and this guy is under the impression he is going to get a shiny in new condition one for that price. Now if your just wanting a Jardine and dont care about the value of your current pipe then yall work it out and both of you can be happy. Im not sure what jardine you are looking for but ive seen a few on here forsale the last week or 2....and at a cost that is half of new.

Kid1620
08-08-2011, 04:13 PM
Yeah it just came off as a little be snooty but I'm the type of person that likes to buy new if I can. And I was looking at the jardine carbon fiber. And I haven't seen one on here. Plus I need the money to buy one lol. Sorry for thread jacking.

Wow.. the jealously on this board is totally amazing. If you don't have a Buell Race can for sale... please move on. This is a WTB thread, not an opinion thread.

I have actually had 2 people contact me wanting to sell theirs, so while I appreciate everyones "expert" opinion on values, that is not what this thread is for.

Again.. Thank you.

ps.. planning on getting the Buell race pipe and then ordering a EBR ECM.

Ill post wherever I like kthanks. No jealousy here, if you can get one for the price your looking at then more power to ya Man. But its not your place to tell people where and how to post, get over it.

BikeRider

Sure it is.. it my WTB thread in the Classifieds section.

I'm not going to even bother trying to reply to any further posts that have nothing to do with my WTB thread. Got something to sell... great! I've got money. Got nothing?... move on.

No its not "Your" thread, You dont own the internet. You join here today, and start tossing out how we should act, who have been here for years. I would say it is you that needs to move on.

GL getting a mint Race Pipe for $400, Iv seen'em go for over 1k on ebay, $400 will get you a gently to extremely used race pipe, but not mint. Take it or leave it.

Good for you [up] I have no reason to be jealous of you, your bike, or the parts you put on it. Like I said before Ive had one and moved on. Glad you have had some offers and hope things work out for you. BTW this is a very active forum with tons of opinions........get used to it. Have you visited Badweb?........Seems like they may be more of your type of crowd. :D

Just because I bought the Pizza (which is mine) and Paid for it, doesn't mean that I own the Pizza Company. Your analogy didn't make sense to me.

Regardless, thanks for the bump all!

I'm going to avoid this argument, and wish you the best of luck in finding the pipe that you want. There is quite a demand for Buell Race exhausts, so you are not alone in your penchant for them.

With that said, I would strongly advise against purchasing an EBR ECM. Because it has been tuned for another bike in another environment, and on a dyno, you are really missing out on performance and a smooth powerband. Your best bet is to tune your own bike. If/when you choose to go that route, don't hesitate to get in touch with me via my website (http://www.thetuniversity.com/), because I will gladly get you set up no matter what performance modifications you choose to purchase.

Ride safe!

the OEM Buell RACE exhaust is THE BEST.
I know this may be like kicking a dead horse but I somewhat feel I have to do it. When I first bought my firebolt I was pretty much the same as you seem to be, I wanted the race exhaust since Erik buell made them and had an ecm to go with them. Figured it would run top notch since its made by the pros. I even managed to find a guy who was willing to sell me one brand new in a box (he had three in fact, no clue why or how, and no they weren't fake--all stamped), for $1000. Then I felt really grateful when I had someone show me the nullexhuast shootout (http://www.americansportbike.com/Exhaust_Shootout.html). They test a lot of them, including the race exhuast, weigh them, tune them, sound clips and everything. When it comes right down to it though. YOU CAN GET THE SAME POWER WITH OTHER PIPES. Study the specs and you'll see its not necessarily about the pipe but more about the tune. Thats why they run each pipe with a rCe ecm and with a private tune. NO A EBR ECM IS NOT A PRIVATE TUNE. A tune involves altering air fuel ratios on your bike based on its performance with your modifications, weather, altitude, etc. With a race ecm you will see gains but they can only guess what will "more than likely work."

So in short. Read the exhuast shootout. If you can get a racepipe in good shape go for it but that's a rare occasion finding them under 600-700. Then have octopus @ do a professional tunethe tuniversity (http://thetuniversity.com/node/14)

With a race ecm you will see gains but they can only guess what "will more than likely work best for everyones conditions". they don't make ecm's for your bike and my bike, and bikes in 100 degree weather and bikes in 30 degree weather and bike up in the mountains and bikes down south at lower altitudes, they make ecms for bikes with these pipes.
Drummer
Drummer SS
Jardine
Special Ops
Hawk

Stock
and what my point is out of that information is that you said you will be purchasing a race ecm and
the OEM Buell RACE exhaust is THE BEST

not necessarily true, you can get other pipes to run the same, if not better, for cheaper.
spend some time datalogging and get your files to theoctopus, ive never even met him but am looking forward to doing this myself just don't have the time/money right now.

Read the exhuast shootout. If you can get a racepipe in good shape go for it but that's a rare occasion finding them under $600-700. MOST IMPORTANTLY THOUGH, JUST LIKE THESE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO TELL YOU, YOU CAN GET THE SAME POWER OUT OF OTHER, MORE REASONABLY PRICED PIPES. SO ILL HAVE TO DISAGREE WITH YOUR STATEMENT
the OEM Buell RACE exhaust is THE BEST.

and it is just a little comical youre willing to

I'm willing to pony up more. Otherwise, lets please keep this to a WTB thread instead of a discussion. and put more money in someone's pcoket of whom youve never met before, when you could get the same power at a more reasonable price, ha its just funny-----o ya the most expensive runs the best!! haha still laughing

and with regards to
Wow.. the jealously on this board is totally amazing it doesn't have to do with jealousy, it has to do with members genuinly wanting to give you a little advice before you spend more money than you should. people being friendly, i highly doubt they're jealous of the two race pipes you been offered. have you wondered why this gentleman is wanting to sell his for a jardine cf??
guys don't be a dick to the guy he wants what he wants and I'm willing to sell my race pipe to him if he wants it I just want enough to get a jardine that's all and if he doesn't should ask yourself that question as well. then ask around about poeple who USED to run the the race pipe and why they NO LONGER ARE.

just more "friendly advice" from another random forum dude, take it or leave it, either way i DONT have a race-can to sell you but am still going to leave this post....................only to try to help
