I am new to the forum and getting ready to buy an 09 xb12r and have been looking at exhausts. I was wondering if you just do a slip-on muffler is there need to retune the bike or will it be fine to run. I rode harleys before and wasn't sure if the same theory applied to buells also by just adding slip-ons and not changing the a/c

you dont need to but you should.ebr has preprogramed ecm for many pipes.link (http://www.erikbuellracing.com/store/models/xb12/xb12-preprogrammed-ecm.html)

From all the information I've seen, you'll be fine as '08+ came from the factory on the richer side. But if you get lots of decel popping, you'll need to look into the ^EBR ECMs^ or better yet, Octo's Tunerpro classes.

i would get a d&d, ya it is a lot to money to throw down but it is wroth everything and i think it look bad ass on the buells . i have that on my bike, it is one of the best pipes you can get. you have a 09 the pc will do it all by it self you do not have to get it tune for the first few miles on it will sounds like ruff but it will go way i have a 08 firebolt 1203

I can set you up with a completely custom tune for about the same price as an EBR ECM, once you factor in the inevitable reflash or two you'll need to get it where you like it.
