Buell XB12Ss with Ulysses Points Cover?

Hi people - looks like a great forum - hope you can help? Looking at buying an XB12Ss [05/06 Australia]but for some reason the owner can't tell me , it has a Ulysses points cover instead of the Lightning one!
VIN is 5mzjx03a563600112.
Anyone heard of this happening before?

either if it's the timing cover outer or inner, it will be fine, does not affect anything, the outer cover is simply decorative with the model displayed on it, and the inner one covers the sensor assembly. the previous owner probably needed one in which the Ully cover was readily available at the time. if you have access to a parts manual, look under the "Electronic Ignition System" section, should be the first page of that section and you'll find the part number for the actual cover you'll need for XB12Ss...try LSHD1.com for the part, they are about 20% cheaper than other dealers online, good luck and hope this helps you out

timing covers, timer covers, points covers call them what you will. If it is confusing take it off and install something functional... Mine opens beer bottles.
