She finally came. Leather with gel insert and stitching to match the frame.
I think it looks great. Stellar craftsmanship. I will report how it feels after I ride it home.

Seat rides great. Not sure if the gel takes time to break in or not, but it is softer than the low seat for sure. Not nearly as plush as I had imagined though. Still, amazing craftsmanship and quality.
I paid 450ish with a core exchange. Pricey, but I got the top dog (gel, leather and leather care products).

I've been thinking of getting one too. Love the look as it has a solo/seat cowl shape to it. Along w/ a flatter "platform" for your ass. It looks easier to go from side to side on like a firebolts seat.
Let us know how you like it once you get more seat time [up]

Dynasty, very nice touch! It's amazing how little details can really change a bike. Very nice! Congrats!

I have put about 700 miles on mine. Absolutely love it... Loren does great work, and it looks great. It might seem a bit pricy, but for comfort on long rides, it's a bargain.

Man, I really want a Baldwin seat like that. Probably will go with Vinyl though. Maybe my parents will get me one for my college graduation gift!

I really like that seat, I may have to bite the bullet this winter and order one. I like my Buell Select seat but I think I like that one better.

I had Baldwin do a gel insert and remold the seat a bit.
( All on a low seat ) did an amazing job!
As soon as I put the Baldwin on, the select seat and Corbin were both sold ASAP!
I highly recommend his work!

I've been draging my feet on getting one but this is pushing me closer. $450.00 may sound like a lot of slaw but I've had custom seats done on other bikes and every time I squirm at the cost but after they're built I react the same way "should have sucked it up and done this a long time ago"
Yours looks awesome, I've talked with him and may do it over the winter[up]

Thanks for the love guys.
Just took it for an extended ride and I can retract my prior statements. It is verrrry comfortable. Considering it is a low seat, it is much more supportive and easy on the rear end. Great supple leather too. Really loving it so far.
I suggest giving Loren a call. It is a billion times upgrade over the stock low seat.
Oh, and another note, Robert with xblights- you are the man. I love my LED tail. Thanks again for the quick work on that beauty.

awesome looking!... but a bit pricey for my taste at the moment, may take mine to a local interior shop to get my stock xb9s seat recovered with a bit more padding to make the long rides a bit more easier on my a$$:D

It looks great. It really matches the lines of the tank perfectly. Can I see a shot of the entire side view of the bike including front and rear tire? It looks like it matches the overall curves of the Lightning better than the stock seat.
Does the leather absorb water if it rains?

Does the leather absorb water if it rains?
Parked in the rain, sure. On the road, not so much.

I have applied Skidmore's leather cream and beeswax water repellant, so I hope it will be ok in the rain.
