Alright. I went for a little ride the other day, and noticed my check engine light came on, and it felt like I was hitting the rev limiter. I was doing about 70mph @ 4k rpm's. I slowed down to about 60mph. Light went away. Speed back up to 70mph and ran fine. This happened 4 times that day. Recent work I did on the bike. Had to rotate the engine to replace the fan and gaskets. That was about 2-3 months ago. Never had an issue until now. Oh and its an 07 XB12ss. Anyone encounter this yet?

Mine did this at > 70mph, ended up being the exhaust valve sensor. I believe the high velocity of gas at that speed prevents the valve from opening or closing properly and triggers the alarm.

What I ended up doing was cutting the exhaust open, stripping out all the guts, and welding it back together. Now the exhaust servo just makes noise and doesnt trigger the check engine light.

And I also have an 07 Xb12Ss. Thats scientific proof, just be same thing.
You could test this by disconnecting the cable and just pinning the exhaust valve open and riding around.
