NRHS! Im taking my o4 xb12s to their shop in Longmont Co. on saturday. He is gonna install his stage 2 kit. It includes new cylinders and hurricane forged pistons. 10.5 to 1 compression, 1250cc. Stage 2 head work, port polish and big valves, and springs. Cometic gaskets, total seal, file fit rings. And Im also getting red shift cams .575 lift, new lifters and push rods, oil pump gear, and dyno tuned, for around 3 grand.
****.
Cant you just buy the 1250 kit and put that on and be fine? They say its bolt on. Idk how it all works. Im asking for my sake, im planning on doing this in the winter but not all the work youre doing.
Cant wait to hear how she does!

you can just go with the bolt on kit, but to extract the power that it is capable of you must port the heads and go with big valves. I just picked up my bike yesterday, all work and brake in complete, it made 119hp at the back tire! Now it power wheelies in 2nd with the flick of the wrist. 31hp gain, and it delivers it so much smoother! money well spent for me.

Nice, was it still around 3 grand when it came the time to pick it up? YOu do a quarter mile before and after? I think I may need to pick up some overtime this winter hehe :)
Put up a video. I'd like to hear it.

This was done to my bike by nhrs performance by the previous owner. This is my first Buell so I don't have any way to compare it to stock, but I'm 6'3" 230 and it has no problem lifting the front end at any time. Its got pletny of power. I don't do wheelies but it's lifted a couple times when I got lazy.
I went to HD Dallas to dyno tune just to make sure I was getting everything out of it, but the guy said I needed to drill into my exhaust to add an o2 sensor and do some other things as well. He wasn't real excited about doing it either, said no one there was real experienced in tuning Buells so I said forget it.

That's a great number. Did you do a before/after dyno?

119 hp is impressive. Had you done the ecm pipe and intake prior to the big bore kit? That wasn't included in the $3k price was it? What will the dyno / tune time cost?

Intake, and exhaust were pre existing to build, dan at nrhs dyno tuned my bike for free, race tune. we discussed the cam swap, and the one i wanted required pushrod adjustment every oil change. It was gonna cost me 3hp, and save $400 to reuse my old cams, and they work great with the build. Out the door price was $2670.

I'm excited to compare results after my turbo goes on this winter. Yes yes pics or it didn't happen. Aerocharger self contained oil turbo, chain conversion kit to take some torque and put her more in the top end. Port and polish the heads, maybe change to titanium valves. Re cut the valves at least. full cometic gaskets set and I think a water methanol injection system. About 3 grand in total. I don't wanna here bitchin about the turbo is the fastest way to roast a motor. Everything in moderation and for Hell's sake spend the friggin money and do it right. Pics to come. probably January before i pull the motor.

This combination if tuned correctly typically puts around 125 horse at the rear wheel. That's not like WHOA!!! Like you're thinking. 125 is still very very usable and pretty fun. If you made the same comment about the new ducat 1199. I would agree though
I'm sure this bike runs as good as it sounds [up]

I disagree Kelly, the HP comes on in the 1250 EVO at a place you can use it and the torque (the stuff that actually moves us) is always there. I have 102 hp at the rear wheel and 86 ft pounds with a pipe, ecm and air box and it is almost enough but a tremendous value for under $1,000.
Indeed if the HP / TQ came in at 5500-7000 the real world benefits would be limited but as noted it's a linear curve and there when you need it. Nice job!
