Went on a day trip yesterday. Left here in northern illinois passed through lake geneva, Wisconsin. Then diverted west to Wildcat mountain. Then south to Galena, Illinois and back to my area here near Crystal Lake.

Overall it was just over 500 miles. It was exhausting towards the end but thought I would share some pictures of the bike the way I left it in the garage last night.

I need more buellers to ride with though, these I4's are annoying for that long.

Thats a long ride [up] Nice bike!

Hope you don't mind but I've been meaning to ask s/o like yourself if you painted your subframe/seat rails black? Mine is still the stock chrome-ish looking and its looking very worn. If you did, was there a write up on it?

Also every XB I see has the black passenger peg mounts...I bought mine from the dealer and they are chrome. Did you paint those also or was there an option for either finish? I'm thinking I should paint mine or trade with s/o who wants the nice chrome ones! Here is a pic so you know what I'm talking about:

Sorry, not trying to jack your thread, you can PM if you want, or you can tell me to take a hike :D
Thanks GTP

Thanks!! No the rails are the new 2010 lightning black from the factory rails. I had to buy new ones after a wreck. As far as the passenger pegs, yours are the first I have actually seen in chrome lol. Mine are stock the same graphite color as the frame.

However if you wanted to buy some, the member BurningExample is parting out with his bike, might have them for sale. Or if you go on americansportbike.com they have the graphite paint in a can, you can just sand them down and paint them the original graphite color.

Damn you have more carbon fiber than I do!! bike looks good!

Thanks, yeah she is every bit carbon! I think I might post a 'for trade' ad for the passenger pegs, cause I'd rather swap with s/o, my paint skills are not so good and I'd probably F that paint job up [mad]

So that graphite paint from ASB would work on the seat rails to match the frame right? I think I might do that...Although matte black would look good on both the rails and pegs.

It would work on the rails yea, I Liked the look of the black though, it goes great with the tail piece. You will find some on here, im sure someone will part with some, if not buellsterparts.com has a couple in stock.

Its cool dont worry about it haha, Powdercoated matte black like that would be pretty sweet looking to.

Hey Jesse Someone polished you rear peg brackets.

Exreme, how did you strip the rails b4 powder coat?

I went w/ rattle can but will have them powder coated eventually. Well, I don't know.. This is holding up WAY better then I thought.

Why the need for all the bags for a "day trip"? What all did you need to bring with you?

I'm located in greenfield hales corners and new new Berlin area I'm on the border of all of them. My gf lives in Racine I just can't remember where I saw you or a bike that's exactly the same.

1. to test out all the bags I bought over the last couple months.
2. because we left at 5 am and the I4's with me have no storage at all so my saddle bags were stuffed with jackets, ( it was mid 50's when we left, 70's all day).
3. tail bag held all the drinks and spare visor incase it got dark. Tank bag held phone, gps, chargers, and place to keep tools, to leave my gloves, and a quart of oil.

ya never know! id rather be prepared for nothing than not be prepared for anything.

TooFst, I took them to the powder coat shop and stripping came with the powdercoating, they unsed a sandblaster. I did nothing to them.
