I have been fussing about this bike not being fast enough to my wife for awhile. My last bike was a 310 RWHP turbo busa, so I obviously expected to feel a bit slower, but have really been missing the speed/torque of my busa.

Last night I figured alittle something out... I was hitting the mechanical limit of my wrist when twisting the throttle. I turned my wrist over a bit more and ripped into it last night out riding with about 10 other guys for a going away hooligan ride for a friend of ours. Instant front end in the air in 1st gear, and it popped up in 2nd and 3rd as well... I still had 1/3rd of the throttle to go all this time!!! LMAO

This bike will power wheelie 1st-3rd with no issue!!! I felt like a dumb ass, but thought I would share. Im so much more happy with it now that I realized I had more "free power" just waiting for me to know its there!!! :p

Gofast Mods: D&D exhaust, breather reroute, open airbox, race map (tuned alittle bit to reflect the D&D+open airbox). Im installing the K&N filter next week, and also throwing on my shoyomoto airbox cover as soon as it gets back from paint. Then ill tune again, and see how she runs.

Wtf, why doesnt mine do that? It wont even power wheelie in 2nd! :C

I have the same as you but have my K&N air filter. My Race ECM though is for the race pipe. I have the stock ECM. Can you do me a huge favor and email me your race map? Please! :)

shoot me your email, I will do that this weekend :)

keep in mind, that mine is tuned for MN, so the pressure might be alittle different depending on where you are.

How much of a difference would that play, how hard would it be to change for myself? I live in MO, hot and humid. I think itll still be load better then the Race map for the D&D. Decel popping is way to much.

nope, St cloud MN. There were about 12-13 of us. I was the only Buell. A few of the guys are rides for Squidwheelies stunt crew, and are just plain nuts. Its fun to ride with them though. These are the guys I used to run with when I had my turbo busa.

st. cloud...interesting.
so i take it you monkey with the tuning of your bike? i've been trying to find someone that understands that stuff within a reasonable distance from me so i can get rid of my 2900rpm hiccup.

I actually live just north of Princeton. But we all meet up in st cloud. The 2900 rpm fix is easy. If you search it, the fix is on here and badweb. You just need to add alittle bit of fuel at those points. The breather mod helped mine a TON. but it still does it when its not fully warmed up.

I've noticed that little extra throttle I can't reach either, I've been thinking about trying a quick throttle type modification. Maybe that PVC throttle mod could help fix that? Anyone clarify?

I'm a big guy (my bike and I go 700 lbs) and I have no problem powering the front end up in 1st and 2nd... Never tried in 3rd.

just wondering, what is your definition of "powering up" the front end

Is that
- a smooth roll on and the front comes up?
- chopping the throttle off then going WOT to get it to lift up?
- or clutching it up?

the only time I've ever been able to get the front up in 2nd (without the clutch) is at the right rpm's, yanking up on the bars, and hitting a crest in the road all at the same time...

and my bike is not stock (04 xb12s)

on my stock 12r i do the same on a crest, other then that when i pin it in first or second i just do a wicked burn out with a 15ft tire mark

This was done under heavy acceleration only, and the tire came up and I rode it out, then down, in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

In 1st, i just rolled into it hard, and it came up. In 2nd, it was after the shift, and it came up, I rode it down. In 3rd, same story, but the front end did not come up as high.

I also have my suspension set up alittle tight, which may make it easier for me.

Nope, I just got this bike a few months ago. I used to have a turbo hayabusa, and rode with the Cowboy Cycle crew. There was a guy with a Uly who rode with us from time to time.

I am around 270, my old bike was a 900rr (old raw super bike power)

so i was use to that mid rage tear your arms out power.

I found out that if i am at 4K and i not even pull back on the bars but nudge my ass to the rear the front wheel will lift up.

Once that happens if i give it a solid hit of throttle it will hang there like that for a few seconds or come up until i get freaked out and tap the rear brake.
