Well, went to do my first oil change on the bike. Drain the oil and getting ready to install the plug back in and notice the plug won't fully tighten. Take it out and notice some shavings on the plug and in the chamber.

Talked to my buddy J_Undisputed and as always he gave me good advice. Figured I would do it right and ordered the timesert fix. I am a little afraid of further ****ing up the threads, but I guess I got to try.

I do have a question though that J and I are trying to work out. I don't have a jackstand or anything like that I am very hesitate to lay my bike down on concrete. Could I do this repair with the bike on a kickstand?

You could hang it from rafters or a tall ladder if you have ratchet straps.

I live in NYC with no garage space or real tools which is a major bummer.

If it still has some threads and you can screw it in but not enough to tighten all the way, then just use loctite. Thats what I did and it's been 3k miles with no sign of oil leakage around it.

I thought about that, but it is too scary for me. Figure I will do it proper and be bikeless for a few days. I just imagine dumping 2.5 quarts on my rear tire and proceeding to eat ****.

Well if it screws in then it wont just pop out like that but I know your fear. Loctite is amazing stuff.
