I haven't seen any posts on this so I'm not sure if anyone else is having the same issue.
2006 XB12Ss
The seat will shift front to back about a 1/4" to 1/2" inch when pull/pushing on the seat.
When unlocking it, you have to wiggle the seat for a second or two and then it pops off.
Not sure if these two issues are related.
I asked the HD guys if they could adjust the seat to prevent the movement and I was told you can't, which I don't entirely believe.
All of the mounts and hooks on the bike as well as the seat look fine.
I haven't done any mods that would affect the seat fitment, however I'm the second owner.
Any help is appreciated.

My Ss has a little play fore and aft though it seems more like <1/8" to me.

What seat are you using? My stock seat was always a PITA to remove. In searching for the perfect long distance saddle I purchased the Sport, Touring, XB12STt, and Baldwin seats and they all pop right off for removal. Much easier to remove than the stocker.

YMMV,

The movement is definately more than an 1/8" on my bike.

I'm using the stock seat, but it seems like I need an upgrade to fix it.

Which seat did you end up with for the long trips?
I can't stand the stock seat for more than 4 hours.
I like the Sport because it drops your center of gravity supposidly ~1" and it looks better.
Other threads mention the corbin seat, might need to check into those.
