Hi everyone, quick question. I wanna get some hand guards like what came on the Uly and CityX to try and keep my hands warmer in the damn winter here in Colorado. I also wanted to get some bar-end mirrors (aftermarket chopper mirrors I have now kinda suck). Is such a combination possible? I know the guards have to attach to the end of the bar somehow, but it seems like something someone would have figured out by now. Thanks!

Here's what I have on my blast. I have a similar set-up on the xb too.
I'm running fat bars, so I slid the controls as far in as I could. Then clamped the mirror to the end of the bar sticking out. I then used the leftover hardware from the mirrors, with a different bolt, to attach the end of the hand guard.
If you weren't running fat bars you could do the same thing but don't clamp the mirror to the bar and stretch the hand guard to the outside of the mirror with the different bolt. I did it this way too before I went to fat bars.

I have acerbid hand guards on my cr and they work great and allow you to put bar ends on without issue. I'll take and upload a pic later for you.

Heres some pics of my hand guards and the bar ends. I'm not sure what model the guards are and how much they were because they were on when I bought her. But they work well and seem like a quality piece of equipment.

I put some of these on my hand grips. wired them into the port behind the flyscreen on my '09 xb9sx (the one the stock heated grips would plug into) works like a charm & keeps my hands nice & warm
heated hand grips (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motorcycle-Heated-Grip-Pads-Heaters-MX-Enduro-Road-Bike-/260720754689?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cb42b0001)

I got the cf hand guards used off of another forum a few years ago. I was told they were custom made from a mold of the buell guards.
Thanks Matt

I'm in the Lakewood/Denver kind of area. Around Hampden and Wads. You close?
racerxrex: heated grips are on my list too lol. I think I might go with the kit made for Buells though. Having the switch on the control cluster and not having to reapply grips sounds a lot nicer. Plus, mine is an 08, so it's already wired up for it and everything.
Thanks for the input everyone. I will see if I can cobble something together. Btw, those acerbis guards look pretty cool on that CR with those mirrors. Nice job.

I knew those guards looked familiar. That's my old bike. They are Acerbis X-force handguards. Work great and easy to install. Have the same setup on my Scg. Damn I miss that CR.

I have the folding CRG bar ends
I got from podiumsuperbike. They are on my tt which has the same hand guards as the Ulysses do. Fantastic mirror. Great quality. Had them on my vrscdx when I owned it. Can't go wrong and they fold out of the way.
