04 xb12s. Can anyone beat nearly 8 years on the original battery? Hope this one goes another 8.
Replaced with a die-hard from sears for $85 after tax.

8yrs on a battery is insane. Did you have it on a battery charger during the winter months?
Wow nice! I just had my battery quit too. Thought it was the starter. I got the ETX14S

I keep my batteries in my basement over the winters, have never had to charge them. I install them in the spring(no charging) and , yes I'm getting 8+ years on my batteries these days. Maybe just lucky.

Every time I put the bike up I took for winter (michigan) I took it out and put it on a trickle charger. Off the floor on a piece of wood. I don't think that was anything special, just got lucky with the battery I think. 8 years- 11,000 miles. 10,300 of those were mine in the last 3 summers.

I'm only on my 2nd battery. Bought bike new: July of 04. I do take the battery out every winter and put it on a trickle charger about once a month. Now with that said, the original should have been swapped out after the 2nd season... 3rd summer, if my bike sat for more then a day or so it would need a jump. Had to push start it a couple times... Not fun... To answer your ? I'd say 8 years has to be some kind or record. Good job.
I'm an auto mech. and someone told me recently that there is only two factories that make internal battery components. Then the "company" just puts them together, markets and sells them... Ect... Don't quite know what to think of that. ( I used the word "company" cuz I don't know how to spell Manufacturer)
