i just noticed this squeal coming from my bike, '05 xb12scg. so i sit it on stands and search for it. well i traced it down to the drive pulley from the transmission. i thought it was just the belt sitting too close to the guard so i spun the tire and pushed the belt just off the lip of it. noise still there...
could it be the output seal going? there is no oil leak present and only makes the noise if spinning forward, not reverse.
any ideas?

if u do figure it out let me know... my buddy's night rod had made that noise or kinda a wur from the drive belt since he bought it.
Nice screen name by the way:D

sounds like the bearings are dry/worn in the pulley, time for replacements, got mine from vxb.com, pretty cheap too

are you talking about the tensioner? by the looks the drive pulley(coming out of the transmission) looks a little more complicated than that.
