I bought a new headlight assembly recently, and I was just about to buy the DDM tuning HID kit.
Is it stand alone or does it need a separate time delay relay?

You can do either, it doesn't need it but some have had problems with not doing it. I have had my ddm hids on for 2 years no problems withOUT the timer delay.

Which DDM kit did you get? That's my next project. I've got to have brighter lights at night. My country roads have zero lighting. I don't see debris in the road until I'm ring on top of it.

I"m using the DDM's on my bolt. i have 55w with 6k for both bulbs, and i used this as my time delay for the low beam time delay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180544858770&category=94850&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619#ht_2412wt_907) i only got one one, and put it on my low beam and just always keep the high beam turned off before i start my bike.

Noticeable difference! Thanks. Btw, what did the kit cost?

i want to say like $50ish....? it was pretty good price vs other kits that were over $100's

just make sure you get the right bulb like h3 or h7 depending on lightning or firebolt

well depends on what set up you go with...

DDM tuning websight (http://www.ddmtuning.com/Product-Categories/Motorcycle-HID-Kits-Lighting)

if you only get the high beam its cheaper....

the quality of their stuff is top notch also

2 x H3 = Firebolt

2 x H7 = Lightning

Hid right up (badweb) (http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/517861.html?1313566719)

Time delay (I haven't read through this one yet...) (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Buell-Lightning-XB12S-XB12Ss-CityX-XB12Scg/HID-Time-Delay-Mod)

I had some disagreements on terry's time delay write up but you can read about it in the thread, it does have lots of hood info!

These all might helpTime delay write up (http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/575056.html?1300445891)
