The shield on my ULY is a tinted/short one but I also have a clear larger one that I want to install now that it is getting cold as hell here in NJ. The short one has 4 hard black nipple things (haha) that go into 4 rubber grommets on the fly screen. The larger clear shield has 2 of the nipple things and then 2 screws with rubber pushed over them (please see attached pics). Does anyone know; do I have to take the flyscreen off and install those attached rubber sleeves behind/through it or something? I have some of the extra nipple things but they look too small for the larger holes that the current bottom screws are going through. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

ok im not positive but i beleive u remove the lower 2 gromets from the fly screen and then slide the ones with the threaded inserts in their place and when u tighten the screws they should expand and hold them in place. if that doesnt work then id say ud have 2 attach the windshield with the fly screen removed.

Sweet I'll give this a try. I don't think the flyscreen ever needs removing to use a windshield but thank you!

It turns out that there should be a nut or something in the rubber sleeve to force it to expand when tightened, unfortunately it's missing. Does anyone know where I can find these? Thanks again.

Yes Earwig you can find those at MOST Ace hardware Stores They are called (Wellnuts) .They most likely will be in the Nuts/Bolts section. There will be a Brass Nut inside the Rubber Housing as you tighten up the Bolt OR Screw it Expands on the other side it is inserted in to hold it firmly in place. Those are also in the Guage Cluster to hold it in place as well. It gives it some Vibration damping along with firm grip to keep it from Cracking etc..Make SURE to take what you have with you so as to compare might want to take the Shield if your Driving a Vehicle to test fit. Good luck. Welcome to the Forum. *Jimi [up]
