i have an 07 scg with 5500 miles on it, near perfect condition. I would like the taller suspension if any one wants to trade.
Does anyone know if the rake angle is different? would i need to trade the triple as well? im open to a bolts suspension as well

Shoot I might be down. Where do you live?
YOu dont need to change tripples and the rake is the same. But you will need to trade kickstand

Mass what about you?

You have to change the lower triple, all scg's have a smaller diameter lower clamp.

I just swapped my 03 XB9S ( regular suspension ) for a newer SCGs lower suspension.
Did NOT have to swap lower triples.
Just both forks, rear shock and kickstand
Pretty easy in all.
BUT, if you trade for a 2005 and up regular suspension, you will have to swap the lower triple.
The 03-04 bikes have the smaller forks like all SCGs.
So if you want it easy, find an 03 or 04 to swap with, just make sure they've been rebuilt recently. Mine had over 20k on em, but had just been rebuilt by a pro, so they were in tip-top shape!
Good luck!

^ Because you have a 03 they had smaller lower triples!
Edit: Your post wasn't edited when I started my reply, what you said is right for the 03-04 models.

I did the exact same swap and all you need are the forks, shock and kickstand.

wavex is incorrect!
He swapped scg suspension for xtremelow's 03-04 R/S suspension not SS which he said they are in his thread below. He didn't have to change his lower triple because he traded for the old 03-04 forks that are 41mm on all models.

short lived you need a lower clamp from a 05+ r or s, forks, rear spring (Blue), and a kickstand.

Where in Mass are you? I'm in Maine about 3 hours north of Boston. Maybe we could hook up. I may be able to truck down if you have a good place to swap! Let me know and if not we should atleast hook up for a ride sometime. 04 xb12s 9000 miles -Arthur-

Yes the older Susp will work, by using the older R/S forks you don't need to swap the lower triple tree just the forks rear shock and kickstand. As I did with wavex.
