I know this looks like a rough cut but, All connections are intact (even if they look ugly) and the connection that is supposed to be broken, is broken.

my led blinkers still don't work! The relay acts just as it did before... (it works fine if i hook up an incandescent bulb)

any ideas?

P.S.
I posted this under the actual thread for this mod too but, seeing as how there are no email notifications on this forum, I'm not sure anyone "over there" would see it.

any ideas?

what does your tester tell you. what i mean is do the volts/ohms/amps add up with the led hook up? im no expert what so ever adn am still learning but if it works one way but not the other then i would wonder if the other way needs some sort of way to regulate the power. cant tell ya much on the board in the pick i dont know stuff that deep yet. im sure im way off but maybe it will get your thread started for you man.

thanks kelly. I've done some poking around with my DMM but really, without any schematics, I wouldn't know what to look for in the first place. from what i read on the mod page, it seemed pretty straight-forward. I must be missing something, somewhere.

I just did this last week and it worked fine. I just did what you did and that was it. Sorry you are having problems.

I know you said that it isn't a broken connection, but in my eyes it looks to be a really rough cut that has damaged possibly 3 connections. ER36 led relay from advance auto parts, get a new flasher relay and call it a day.

This is the flasher that I got and it worked on a friends bike also.

THIS ONE WORKS CLICK ME (http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_x_5081335-P_x_x?cm_mmc=CSE-_-Google-_-VALUE3-_-VALUE4&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=)

okay, well... I fixed it but, heres a question for you guys...

Are you running LEDs in front AND back? as in, no incandescent bulbs?

in my case, I am.

my two sets of LEDs were not enough to trip even the modified relay. This afternoon I added 2 100 ohm resistors (25W) in parallel. Normally, this would result in fast blinking however, in addition to the modified relay, it was JUST enough to get the system blinking.

So, if you're running ALL LED blinkers, you may need to give your system a little extra "push" to get it going.

anyways, heres what I needed.

"2" 100 ohm (25w) resistors wired in parallel. One on each rear blinker.

These leads are famous for breaking off right at the end of the resistor. I'm sure the obnoxious vibration of the xb12 wouldn't help that problem. I did a little "reinforcement".

Im using both front and rear leds and the ep36 led model flasher worked perfect for me.

Glad you got your working.

really?! dang.... maybe that led strip i'm using has too high of a resistance and doesn't draw as much current as a "normal" led blinker. weird [confused].

oh well. it works now, that's all that matters. a buddy had these less laying around so, for me it was "free-er" than the ep36. however, if something goes wrong with this setup, I'll be making my way down to my local auto zone
